When the rising sun emerges from behind the peaks of Monte Lattari, covering with gold still sleepy towns of the Amalfi Coast, in the kitchen of the Hotel Bonadies breakfast is preparing for the guests. Fresh fruits, tomatoes, bread, cheese, cold meats and pastries are on the table in the dining room with large windows overlooking the terrace, offering stunning views of the Amalfi coast. Currently, four-star hotel, which has hosted people like Richard Wagner, Hans Christen Andersen, Jacqueline Kennedy and Hillary Clinton, many years ago began as a small Inn in a medieval monastery. Stay at the Hotel Bonadies
To Hotel Bonadies we arrive on a cold and extremely windy March evening. In the doorway welcomes us black dachshund. What a surprise. It turns out, that Camilla – ownersbeloved dog – is also the mascot of the hotel, running around all public areas. Pets of the guests are also welcome, same as children. Bonadies is an old hotel run from the beginning by the same family, which makes a very friendly, homely atmosphere. Hospitality combined with elegantly renovated interiors with a beautiful views outside, accompanied us for six days of a wonderful stay in Ravello.

Our room – Superior with a sea view
This glass-case has something for everyone. Over the years, visitors from different parts of the world abandoned their books in the hotel, whether by accident or by intention.
The hospitality and the family atmosphere is not all the advantages of Hotel Bonadies. Just a few minutes walk trough the old streets of Ravello from the main entrance of the Hotel is enough to reach the Piazza Fontana Moresca and other attractions of the town. Drivers in a front of the building may park car (upon reservation) and the lovers of Italian culinary specialties in the hotel’s restaurant Bella Vista sul Mare may eat a delicious meal made with local products according to traditional recipes of the Neapolitan cuisine.
The history of Hotel Bonadies

The Hotel Bonadies was originally built in the 1200 as a convent. In the 1880, a carpenter of Ravello, Andrea Bonadies, owner with his family of a small part of this historical building, decided to open a small locanda with the name of “Bella vista sul mare”.
The locanda in the first part of the 20th century, became a destination for different artists who arrive in Ravello with the grand tour. One of the most important was Peder S. Kroyer who painted the “locanda” during his stay in Ravello.

In 1930, Andrea Bonadies left the baton to his daughter Adelina and her husband Francesco Carrano. After about 35 years, the first male son Andrea, takes the decision to leave from England (he was a General Manager in an important Hotel of London) to come back in Ravello.
Andrea with his wife Slavina, had the tenacity and strength to recompose the whole property of the convent, which over the years was divided into different owners. Over the years, the convent that had been divided like a puzzle, became thanks to Andrea, his father Francesco, his wife and the brothers, the Hotel Bonadies.
In 1963 came the first daughter of Andrea and Slavina, Suita (from sweet heart, because she born in London) and then the second daughter Mara. Over the years the little “locanda”, becames first a panoramic restaurant and later a small hotel.

The years pass and fly away, but the Bonadies annually changing appearance. […] In the late ’80s, Suita is getting married and are born the twins, Andrea and Umberto. […] Every year, thousands of tourists from around the world, chose the Bonadies in all the seasons. Every tourist felt at home.
In the late ’90s also Mara married and arrive a new child Tiziano, the family grows and also the Bonadies, the last piece of the puzzle is added to the structure. Thanks to the tenacity of Andrea, the old convent again becomes a single building.
Even after the arrival of the new century, Andrea and her family continue to improve more and more the structure with a swimming pool, elevator, a new restaurant, new rooms, and a new facade. In these years the family is still expanding with the arrival of two other grandchildren, Eduardo, and Slavina.
The dream of Andrea became more real, the convent again united, the little locanda becomes a 4 star hotel, famous in all the world and a large family ready to accommodate customers who choose Ravello for their holidays.
In 2015 Andrea passes the baton to his large family, his daughters, Suita and Mara, and the grandchildren Umberto, Andrea, Titian, Eduardo, and Slavina.

Wedding in the Hotel Bonadies
Bonadies is a good choice not only for tourists wishing to explore the Amalfi coast. The charm of these old walls, beautiful views and a family experience multiplied and passed on from generation to generation made Bonadies and restaurant are one of the most chosen by young couples for a wedding party. Well, probably most of you are thinking that such things are only available to people very wealthy. Well, not at all. Apart from the need to travel to Ravello for you and guests, which always increase the cost in relation to the event organized in Poland, expenditure on wedding party does not differ significantly from the domestic prices. The cost of a wedding in Bonadies starts from 65 Euros per person. In the price are included, wedding room, the menu for the entire party, without alcohol and cake, which is the same as in Poland, and a room for a young couple – honeymoon room.
Double room for guests at the off-peak season cost 80 euros per night. Wedding cake in Italy costs 10 euros per kg, and the price goes up depending on the products used, for example, is more expensive cake with almond paste (pasta di mandorla), the same, that is used for example to prepare the almond granite.
